Sometimes you find a diamond right in your own backyard. That’s what happened when I walked into the opening reception for the art of Mark Roberts and Rosalinda Grejsen. What a refreshing experience to view the expansive seascape of Mark Roberts and the amazing ceramic sculptures of Rosalinda Grejsen. Make sure and visit her creation of the Ark with all its animals.

The range … of each artist’s work drew me in as they complemented each other in the new downtown Gallery on Second in Brentwood. What amazes me is that the variety and depth of the pieces on display here were created by these two human beings, Mark and Rosalinda, with their own minds and bodies and sweat. We have the opportunity to receive and enjoy their communications. Thank you and bravo to Mark Roberts and Rosalinda Grejsen for presenting us with this gift.

I’m sure children and adults of all ages would find this excursion a special treat, and luckily, the show extends through Aug. 4. Don’t miss your summer visit to the Gallery on Second at 741 Second St., across from the City Hall fountain.
