To our local peace officers, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for your service to our community. In my opinion, each of you, regardless of capacity, are heroes.
In light of the recent tragedy in Aurora, Colo., I am saying a few extra daily prayers for each of you and your families. While you are on my prayer list daily, I find myself saying a few more prayers asking for your protection. I know I do not stand alone in these thoughts, and I truly feel a need to voice my concern for each of you. There is no amount of compensation that adequately matches your willingness to serve the communities in East Contra Costa County, and you have my utmost respect and gratitude.
May God continue to shield, guide and protect you.
