The catch-and-release competition is tailored for children up to 15. Registration is free. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest, smallest and most fish caught in each age category.
Pre-registration takes place at Oakley City Hall, 3231 Main St., and Hook, Line & Sinker, 3100 Main St. Participants are advised to bring their own pole (a limited number of loaner poles will be available). Bait will be supplied.
Registration the day of the event runs from 8 to 9 a.m. A free corn dog lunch will be served following the derby. For more information, call 925-625-7044 or e-mail coelho@ci.oakley.ca.us.
