Pvt. Michael A. Gonzales
Discovery Bay residents Art and Barbara Gonzales and family are proud to announce that their son and brother, Pvt. Michael A. Gonzales, 18, graduated from the United States Marine Corp boot camp at MCRD, San Diego on July 20. A former Independence High School student, Pvt. Gonzales earned his sharpshooter medal and graduated as a member of Honor Platoon 2154, Co. G, 2nd Battalion. He recently completed combat training at Camp Pendleton, where he is now performing guard duty service. He proceeds to Twentynine Palms in Southern California, where he’ll complete his formal designation training at Military Occupation Specialty School.
