Discovery Bay’s upcoming Rocktoberfest, hosted by the Discovery Bay Lions and Chamber of Commerce, features homegrown band The Department of Rock, plus food and fun. Proceeds benefit local charities. Held at the shopping center on Discovery Bay Boulevard, the party comes to town Saturday, Oct. 13 from noon to 6:30 p.m.

“This is the first time in over 12 years we’ve held the event at the old shopping center,” said Lion Club member and event organizer Jim Mattison. “We’ve got over 30 vendors, ranging from realtors to paddle boards and more. It’s going to be a great day.”

The Department of Rock – performing classic rock from the ’60s through ’80s – will take the stage at 3:30 p.m. No outside food, alcohol or coolers are allowed. For more information or vendor opportunities, call Mattison at 925-513-9032.
