Two East County teens have recently been chosen to participate in the upcoming 2009 Nationals Pageant for the Miss Teen San Francisco competition. The event will be held on March 21, and the winner will go on represent the San Francisco Bay Area at the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla. later this year.

Oakley resident Mariah Nicole Chinchilla is a junior at Freedom High School. If she wins she plans to put her prize money toward her education. Mariah is an honor roll student and martial arts expert who, in addition to her studies at Freedom, is attending cosmetology school part time and plans to work her way through college. Sponsors that have supported her throughout the pageant are Metcalf Construction, Tavo’s Pizzeria, Guila’s Hawaiian Kickboxing and Farmer’s Insurance agent Everett Taylor.

Cayla Clark of Antioch is a confident, well-prepared contestant who will be modeling casual and formal wear at the pageant, where she hopes to win prize dollars and gifts. With local support, she’s hoping to meet her financial goals and represent her community. Donations can be sent to Delta Pure Water, 3162 Contra Loma Blvd. in Antioch or by contacting her pageant coordinator, Patty Neidert, at 800-569-2487.
