The city received the highest Pavement Condition Index (PCI) score of 86 out of a possible total of 100 for 2011, and has received a score of 84 or higher every year since 2006.
Pavement scoring in the 80 to 89 PCI range is characterized as “very good,” and shows only slight or moderate distress, which requires mostly preventive maintenance. The “good” category ranges from 70 to 79, while streets with PCI scores in the “fair” (60-69) range are becoming worn to the point where rehabilitation might be needed to prevent rapid deterioration.
Oakley’s score of 75 was one point less than the city received in 2010, while Antioch’s score of 69 equaled last year’s total.
