Local business offers free wedding gowns for military brides-to-be

Only a few days remain before a local business teams with a nationwide charity to turn up the wedding bliss for military brides-to-be. His & Hers Formal Wear in Brentwood is joining Brides Across America, a Massachusetts-based organization, to provide free designer wedding gowns to future military brides on Wednesday and Thursday. The event is held Nov. 14 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. and Nov 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at His & Hers Formal Wear, 625 First St. To qualify, brides must be engaged, be on active duty in the military or have a fiancé on active duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Bahrain, Libya, Kuwait, Korea or Japan. All military brides must provide documentation showing military identification of active-duty personnel, a driver’s license or identification for the fiancé, and deployment orders or other qualifying proof that indicates service within the past five years or upcoming six months.
