The ECYF Midgets’ recent 24-0 shellacking of Solano earned them an appearance in the upcoming Turkey Bowl. After forcing a fumble, Demiere Wright ran 43 yards to set up a 20-yard touchdown pass from Dominic Mather to Aaron Jackson to give the Lions an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter. In the third quarter, Niko Zanarini’s 60-yard run set up a Kevin Lonergan one-yard score. In the fourth quarter, Jeremy Fournier recovered an errant Solano snap in the end zone to end the scoring for the Lions. The Lions defense was led by Chucky Diaz, Mike Garcia and Ivan Collaco, who shut out Solano for the second time this season. The Lions move on to face the San Ramon T-birds in the Diablo Valley Youth Football Conference championship Nov. 24 at San Ramon Valley High School.
