Patriots defeat Deer Valley

In a clash of two of the top Bay Valley Athletic League girls basketball teams Tuesday night, Heritage dispatched Deer Valley 54-50. Heritage (12-4, 2-0 in the BVAL) went on an 18-7 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory after trailing 43-36 at the end of the third quarter.

Heritage was led by senior Erin Asher, who finished with 16 points. Senior Ali Ramirez chipped in with 14 and eight rebounds.

Deer Valley trailed by seven at the end of the first quarter, but awoke in the second and third quarters by outscoring the Patriots 36-22. Deer Valley (7-7, 1-1) was led by junior Alejandra Cephas and senior guard Sabrea Colemanm, each of whom scored 12 points in defeat.
