“I encourage students who have an interest in civics to apply for the positions in both of my offices,” said McNerney. “This is a great way to learn more about the government and give back to our community.”
College and post-graduate students are encouraged to apply, and high school seniors will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All internships are unpaid and designed to provide the student with educational and professional experience. The Congressman’s office will partner with institutions that offer academic credit for internships.
To apply, students may mail a cover letter and resumé to the Antioch office, Attn: Internship Coordinator, 4703 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA 94531. Inquiries may also be faxed to 925-754-0728. For more information, call 925-754-0716.
