Supervisor Federal Glover wants families to know that students bound for college or job training courses can take advantage of the assistance being offered at several workshops held in our area in the coming weeks by the East Bay California Cash for College Coalition, the East Bay Consortium and volunteers:

•Jan. 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Liberty High School Cafeteria, 850 Second St., Brentwood.

•Jan. 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Antioch High School, 700 W. 18th St.

•Jan. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Pittsburg High School, 250 School St.

•Feb. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Deer Valley High School, 4700 Lone Tree Way, Antioch.

“This is a great opportunity for students needing assistance to apply for financial aid in the form of scholarships or grants so they can further their education after high school,” said Glover.

Applicants must bring their Social Security number, driver’s license, parents’ Social Security number, parents’ tax forms and/or the student’s tax forms and family’s financial records to determine if they qualify for this financial aid. Applicants who are not yet citizens must please bring their alien registration card. For more information, call 925-335-8200.
