PG&E has begun work to replace about four miles of gas transmission line in Brentwood, a project that will impact traffic in the city until fall.

Through February, the work will be focused on Fairview Avenue between Grant Street to Sand Creek Road. The public should expect traffic delays and detours in this area between the weekday hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The project is part of the PG&E's Pipeline Safety Enhancement Program, created in response to the 2010 San Bruno pipeline disaster that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes. The entire project consists of thousands of miles of pipeline across the state.
