Police are investigating a series of burglaries in recent weeks that included the homes of a number of law enforcement officers.

Brentwood Police Department Capt. Tom Hansen said the thieves appear to be targeting firearms, electronics and jewelry. None of the homes were occupied at the time of the burglaries.

Information on the victims is being withheld, including the number of police who have been victims and the type and number of firearms involved.

“We don’t have any reason to believe that they are targeting officers,” said Hansen, who added that a number of agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are assisting in the investigation.

“The burglaries have been committed throughout various times of the day,” police stated in a press release. “The Brentwood Police Department is working diligently to identify the suspect(s) who have committed these burglaries and is following up on several leads and working with other law enforcement agencies.

“The Brentwood Police Department’s number one priority is public safety, and we encourage everyone to safeguard their homes and report any suspicious activity they may see to the police department at 925-778-2441.”

Those with information related to these burglaries should call Detective Folena at 925-809-7743. Callers may remain anonymous.

Just think, with all these new gun laws these crooks won't steal guns anymore because they aren't allowed to have them. At least that is what the brain dead politicians think.
