Folks from Antioch to Discovery Bay and beyond got a dramatic view of giant plumes of smoke rising from the Delta on Sunday afternoon. According to Bay Area Quality Management District, the smoke and floating ash were caused by a 15-acre prescribed burn on an uninhabited sector of Lower Sherman Island near Rio Vista.
