Sen. Mark DeSaulnier has been appointed to serve as an ex-officio member of the Delta Protection Commission. The mission of the Delta Protection Commission is to adaptively protect, maintain, and where possible, enhance and restore the overall quality of the Delta environment consistent with the Delta Protection Act, and the Land Use and Resource Management Plan for the Primary Zone.

“Serving on the Delta Protection Commission is a privilege, but it also comes with great responsibility,” DeSaulnier said. “The Delta does not just showcase the natural beauty of our state. It plays an important role ecologically and economically in California – including Eastern Contra Costa County, which I am proud to represent. I welcome the opportunity to continue to serve as a strong advocate for protecting, preserving and restoring the Delta environment.”
