In preparation for the 11th annual City of Antioch Fourth of July Celebration, the event’s Parade Committee is seeking entries for its annual Hometown Parade. Participation in the parade is free.

Event planners expect attendance at this year’s event to run in the 10,000 to 15,000 range. Judges will award trophies on event day to winners in each of 10 categories, some of which include best entry for Scout Groups, Civic Groups, Commercial Businesses, Cultural Groups and Dance/Gymnastics Studios. In addition, a Judge’s Favorite award will be presented to the entry that best represents this year’s Star-spangled Celebration theme.

“The Hometown Parade is an ideal opportunity for an organization to raise awareness about the programs and services it offers to the community,” said Brian Nunnally, chairperson of the Parade Committee. “Plus it’s a chance for the organization to offer its employees and volunteers public recognition for all the hard work they’ve done throughout the year.”

For more information about the Hometown Parade or the event in general, e-mail Nunnally at bnunnally@ci.antioch.ca.us or call 925-779-6168.
