The annual Contra Costa County Youth Summit, sponsored by Supervisor Federal D. Glover, will be held on April 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Los Medanos College, 2700 E. Leland Road in Pittsburg.

This is the sixth year the supervisor has sponsored this free countywide event. This year’s summit will be hosted by the City of Pittsburg.

Last year’s summit took place at Oakley’s Freedom High School and attracted around 400 young people from middle school and high school, who participated in the summit’s workshops and entertainment. Youth groups from churches, the Boys & Girls Club, and high school clubs sent busloads of teenagers to the event.

This year’s seminars will cover a wide range of topics, including avoiding relationship violence, drugs and alcohol, positive attitude and leadership, as well as a photo class, career advice, summer job opportunities, college financial advice, dance and martial arts.
