Oakley’s Delta Diamonds 95 fast-pitch softball team recently went 5-0 to win its first USSSA tournament of the year in Fremont. The team’s never-die attitude prevailed, as it won three games in the bottom half of the last inning. The championship game was won as the Diamonds faced a two-out, three-run deficit in the bottom half of the final inning. Presley Carmignani hit a line drive up the middle to drive in Chelsea Montes and herself for the win. Coach Kaleialii said the girls did a fantastic job. “It sure is fun when you work real hard and then have something to show for that work at the end.”
