Some of the Relay for Life team members of Donna’s Troopers got together last Thursday after school to “paint” Ron Nunn Elementary School purple to raise community awareness of the upcoming Relay For Life. The team is named after Donna Gutridge, mother of one of the members of Kathy Morford's Girl Scout Troop 1495. The girls and their parents, plus friends and family of Donna formed Donna’s Troopers to honor, celebrate and show support for her. To raise money for Donna’s Troopers and the ACS on Paint the Town Purple day, the girls dressed in purple and donned funny hats and wigs to sell goodies to parents waiting in line in the pick-up loop. Gutridge, currently undergoing cancer treatments, was out in the rain last Friday to help with the bake sale – and baked up a ton of goodies.
