Antioch’s Chichibu Sister City Committee, in partnership with the Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch, is seeking local artists to create a work of art that best represents Antioch. The art will hang in Chichibu’s city hall and joining the work of local artist Nancy Roberts, whose art has been presented to Chichibu officials during prior exchange visits.

The Chichibu Sister City Committee will be taking the art to Japan in July, and Mayor James Davis will present it to city officials for display in Chichibu’s city hall.

“We are hopeful that our talented artist community will create a work of art that captures the essence of our community,” said Chichibu Sister City Committee Member Gary Reiman.

Entries must be completed and ready for consideration by June 18. All media are eligible for consideration; however, the art must meet airline baggage requirements.

All works from participating artists will be on display at Antioch City Hall the week of June 22. The work chosen for the Sister City presentation in Japan will be displayed on June 28. Entries not chosen will be returned to the artists.
