In loving memory of Adrian C. Duarte, who passed away on June 7, 2000

“I Mijo … Another year is here and we’re missing you the same today as yesterday. It seems like just yesterday we were driving down Hoffman Lane taking you down to Grandma P’s house to visit. Propped up on your knees, staring out the window at the fields that was ready to be planted. You turned to me and out of the blue you would say, “Gushy … I know what they’re going to plant in that field,” as we passed them by. “In that field will be corn and the other one will be tomatoes. My Tata told me when I went to work with him. He said the small rows are for corn and the fat rows are for tomatoes.”

I would tell you that I just learned something and then we would both laugh! Mijo, we miss you very much and I especially do when I’m driving down “Old Hoffman Lane.”

All our love, Mom, sister, TaTa, Nana and Graciela
