The Delta Diamonds 95 fast-pitch softball team from Oakley has played outstanding in two consecutive tournament weekends. On Memorial weekend, the Diamonds took third place, going 6-2 in the three-day USSSA tournament in Hayward. The Diamonds followed up the Hayward event with a first-place tournament win on June 6 and 7 at the Baden Sports Classic World Qualifier in Manteca at Big League Dreams.

The Diamonds were led by outstanding pitching from Maliyah Victor and Ashley Garcia, played tough defense and racked up clutch hits all weekend. The Diamonds stormed through Saturday’s round into Sunday, winning their first two games to face the number-one-seeded East Bay Vipers for the championship. The Diamonds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, finishing off the Vipers by a score of 6-1. The victory catapults the Diamonds into the NSA World Series, held in Washington state in July.
