All-stars boost Patriot pride

Three Heritage varsity football players were selected to the Contra Costa County All-Star Football Team, the first players from Heritage to receive the honor: Justin Mariolle, an offensive lineman, team co-captain and BVAL First Team All-League member, who plans to play football at Diablo Valley College this fall; Jake Chappelle, a defensive and offensive lineman and BVAL First Team All-League member, who plans to play football at Santa Rosa Junior College this fall; and Matthew Enos, a linebacker, team co-captain, BVAL First Team All-League and All-East-Bay Third Team member, who plans to play football at Santa Rosa Junior College this fall.

Heritage Coach Jeff Haagenson, who has coached the Patriots for four years, was named one of the All-Star coaches. The All-Star game will be played against Alameda County on Thursday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Los Medanos College.
