For the second weekend in a row, the Dawgs Gold 11-year-olds came away champs after winning six games in a row to take 2009 USSSA State title. On Saturday, they scored 40 runs and allowed only one to beat Diehard Baseball 10-0, the Oakland Oaks 18-0 and the Lodi Legends 12-1.

Sunday was more of a nail-biter: the Dawgs beat the Left Coast Knights 3-2, the Eastlake Titans and played the Oakland Oaks again for the championship, winning in the sixth inning 5-4 with the help of closing pitcher and MVP Nick DiCicco plus clutch hitting in the sixth inning.

So far this season, the Dawgs have won three championships plus one second- and one third-place trophy. The talented group of boys has displayed heart and hard work while making friendships to last a lifetime.
