A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making our first Flag Day Pancake Breakfast a huge success in support of Special Kids’ Day.

Thank you to everyone who attended and also bought raffle tickets to increase the amount we are able to donate to help the kids.

A very special thank you to Maggie and Rene De Luna, who graciously opened their ranch as the setting, just as they do annually for Special Kids’ Day. The De Lunas’ kindness and generosity is endless, and all area Lions clubs are blessed to have them.

Thank you to the Livermore IHOP restaurant for donating its delicious pancake batter. Thank you to the Byron Station Blue Grass Band and The Delta Strummers, along with Hawaiian dancer Darlynne Bohammon, who donated their time and entertained us throughout the event. Because of them, breakfast became a social event where people ate, then stayed and visited, enjoying each other and the entertainment. It was rewarding to see so many adults and children having a great time while helping a wonderful cause.

Apologies to our earliest guests, whose hot food was less than hot. Sorry. We had not yet mastered the equipment. We did better once we got it figured out, so please give us another chance next year.

We can often use help with our fundraisers, so we welcome all students who are trying to satisfy their community service hours to contact us. We sure could use your help throughout the year.

We invite anyone interested in joining our Lions Club to attend our meetings and “check the fit.” We’d love to have you.

Please call 925-513-1780 for more information to join us, or to volunteer your time and your donations to help our worthy causes.

Again, thank you to all who spent their morning with us in support of Special Kids’ Day. Know that you contributed to a wonderful cause and you are so appreciated.
