An installation ceremony was held last month at DeLuna Ranch for incoming officers of the Brentwood Lions Club. Richard Adams, who has been an active member of the Brentwood Lions for the past five years, was installed as club president for 2009-10. “I’m looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the Lion Club’s commitment to serving the community,” said Adams.

Rene DeLuna was installed as club secretary, and Rosanna Sezar and Fred Ginsler as the club’s vice presidents.

Since the club’s chartering in 1929, Lions members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as the Flea Market, CornFest and White Cane Day. Proceeds from fundraising events have gone to the Lions’ scholarship program, Youth in Government, Special Kids Day, Shepherd’s Gate, and Eye exams and glasses for the needy. The club is currently working on its Eighth Year Celebration, to be held at the DeLuna Ranch Sept. 19.

The Brentwood Lions Club has 27 members and meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m. at Perko’s Café on Second Street in Brentwood.

Lions clubs identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For more information or to get involved with the Brentwood Lions Club, call Michael Morgan at 925-513-7280 or visit www.brentwoodlionsclub.com.
