Brentwood police Wednesday were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Brentwood man killed while walking on the Highway 4 Bypass Tuesday night.

According to the Coroner’s Office, Germaine Levy, 28, was declared dead at 9:34 p.m. Brentwood Police Lt. Tom Hansen said Levy had been struck near the intersection of the Bypass and Sand Creek Road.

“It appears a south-bound driver hit (Levy) in the south-bound lane,” Hansen said. “When our units got there, the subject was already deceased.”

Hansen said the driver of the car received only minor injuries and the vehicle sustained only minor damage. The accident closed the Bypass from Sand Creek to Balfour Road until about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Hansen said no witnesses to the incident had been identified. Those with information should contact Officer Justin Luo at 634-6911.

Everyone wants to go 70 mph and above like the Bypass and Marsh Creek are local drag strips.

From 5am till, well 5am.

In the morning people are obviously in a rush

but you aren't going anywhere faster than someone

doing ten miles per hour less than you. Remember the movies in 8th Grade that taught us that fact?

I sit at Enos Farms watching drivers enter

the Marsh Creek/Walnut Blvd intersection and guess

what they are doing! TEXTING while coming up behind cars and entering the intersection.

I'm all for a severe financial punishment for using your phone or texting while driving.
