July 23 Officers of the Antioch Police Department conducted an operation in which subjects advertising sex on the Internet were called for appointments by undercover officers. When the prostitutes arrived to provide their services, they were arrested and charged with prostitution. Six females were arrested and charged with prostitution: Richmond resident Lashawtae Eckelhoff, 21; Pittsburg resident Kimberly Larry, 23; Pittsburg resident Nyeasha Mayers, 23; Watsonville resident Lacy Dent, 20; Oakland resident Erica Pressley, 29; and Walnut resident Creek Anastasia Tolkacheva, 22.

July 30, 12:07 a.m. Officers of the Antioch Police Department responded to the report of shots fired in the 400 Block of Shaddick Drive. When the officers arrived, a residence in the neighborhood was fully engulfed in flames. The occupants – two 23-year-old males, a 25-year-old female, two 21-year-old females and four children, ages 6, 4, 2 and an infant – had already exited the residence and were not injured. After the fire was extinguished, officers and fire personnel discovered evidence of arson. There was other evidence that indicated that shots had been fired at the residence. The motive is unknown at this time. Officers and Contra Costa Fire personnel are still investigating the incident.
