The Mark DeSaulnier for Congress campaign has announced that local elected officials, business leaders, and community activists in Solano County have formed Solano County Leaders for DeSaulnier. The group of 20 local Solano County elected officials and business and community leaders will focus on expanding DeSaulnier’s already strong support in Solano County over the remaining 27 days until Special Election day. Key members of the group include State Sen. Lois Wolk, Solano County Supervisor Jim Spering and business leaders Joe Garaventa and Sue Vaccaro.
“We are very proud to support Senator Mark DeSaulnier for Congress,” Vaccaro said. “Mark has been a leader on the most critical issues facing Solano County, including access to affordable healthcare, public transportation, making our streets safer, and fighting on behalf of working people. Solano County and millions of Americans will benefit from Mark DeSaulnier’s progressive and bold leadership when he is in Congress.”
“I am truly honored to receive the support of such a wide range of community leaders in Solano County,” said DeSaulnier. “The elected officials, business leaders and community activists that support this campaign know that I will work for the people of Solano County to achieve universal health care, create jobs and provide smart transportation solutions for their communities.”
“In addition, I am so proud to have the endorsement of Senator Lois Wolk and look forward to continuing our work together on behalf of Solano County when I am in Congress. Lois is a tremendous representative for the people of Solano County and has worked hard on their behalf for years.”
DeSaulnier, a Democrat, has been endorsed by Congressman George Miller, Assemblyman Tom Torlakson, the California League of Conservation Voters, and over a dozen local labor unions and over two dozen local elected officials. He is a candidate for former Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher’s seat in the 10th Congressional District. Tauscher retired from Congress in June.
