More than 100 East County folk were shanghaied by the Antioch Chamber of Commerce on its nine-day trip to Beijing in the fall. Once the group’s plane landed in China on the morning of Nov. 5, an all-out scramble ensued to find the nearest media center and discover who had been elected the 44th president of the United States.
