Aug. 11, 12:50 p.m. Officers of the Antioch Police Department responded to the report of narcotic activity in a vehicle traveling into Antioch. The caller advised that the vehicle had parked at Mallet & Son’s Jewelry/Pawn Shop on Lone Tree Way. Upon arrival, officers found two of the vehicle’s occupants – 24-year-old Antioch resident Ryan Cummings and 27-year-old Concord resident Lenny Cabrera – inside the store, attempting to avoid contact with the officers. Officers discovered that their vehicle was reported stolen in Brentwood during a recent residential burglary. Further investigation revealed that the subjects possessed numerous items of stolen property from burglaries around the East Bay, including a handgun belonging to a Bay Area police officer that had been stolen during a residential burglary in Danville. Cummings and Cabrera were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of auto theft, possession of stolen property, weapon charges and probation violations.

Aug. 14, 11 a.m. David Stokes, 30, was arrested at a residence in the city of Sacramento by parole agents of the California Department of Corrections. He was booked into Sacramento County Jail on a parole violation and is the subject of an investigation of an attempted homicide in Antioch on Aug. 8.

Aug. 14, 10:04 p.m. Officers of the Antioch Police Department made contact with the victim of a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the area of Hillcrest Avenue and Sunset Drive. The victim, a 45-year-old female Antioch resident, followed the vehicle – a light blue, four-door Honda Accord – to East 18th Street and Viera Drive, where she attempted to contact the occupants of the Honda, and was struck again by the vehicle. She was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. Those with information regarding the incident should call the Antioch Police Department at 925-778-2441.

Aug. 16, 9:19 p.m. Two black male subjects approximately 6 feet tall, of stocky build, entered the New Oriental Buffet restaurant on Somersville Road wearing shirts over their faces to conceal their identity. One of the subjects grabbed the cash register and fled while the other held the clerks at bay with a large knife. The two fled with the cash register in a silver, two-door late-model compact car. There were no injuries. Those with information regarding this case should call the Antioch Police Department at 925-778-2441.
