Lafayette City Councilmember Carl Anduri has endorsed Sen. Mark DeSaulnier for Congress. Anduri joins other community leaders and elected officials in support of DeSaulnier for Congressional District 10, including all members of the El Cerrito City Council and all members of the Pleasant Hill City Council.
“I am proud to endorse Senator Mark DeSaulnier for Congress so he can continue his service to the people of Contra Costa County and the 10th Congressional District,” Anduri said. “Mark understands the local issues affecting the people of Contra Costa, including transportation, education, the environment and, most important, the need for affordable health care for all. As a Contra Costa supervisor, assemblyman and senator, Mark has proven to be an outstanding representative for the people of Contra Costa and CD 10, and I am endorsing him for Congress because we need him working for us in Washington.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement from Lafayette Councilmember Carl Anduri for my campaign for Congress,” said DeSaulnier. “I am proud to have represented the communities in Contra Costa County for over 20 years and will continue to advocate for increased access to affordable, high-quality health care for all families in Contra Costa County and District 10 when I am in Congress.”
DeSaulnier, a Democrat, has been endorsed by Congressman George Miller, Assemblyman Tom Torlakson, state senators Loni Hancock and Lois Wolk, over a dozen local labor unions and over two dozen local elected officials. DeSaulnier is a candidate for former Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher’s seat in the 10th Congressional District. Tauscher retired from Congress in June.
