Thirteen gymnasts from Black Diamond Gymnastics competed in this event against 170 other Northern California gymnasts.
Gymnastics is an exciting individual sport as well as team sport. Each gymnast performs a routine on the four Olympic events(vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor) and receives scores based on their performances.
These scores are the basis for the gymnast's individual performance results and are also added to an overall team score, which makes gymnastics fun for individuals and teams.
There were many individual and team highlights for the Black Diamond Gymnastics team at this recent competition in Concord. The team highlights included a second place finish by the level 4 team. The gymnasts worked hard, each receiving high scores, to achieve this second place team finish.
Individual gymnast highlights included Alexis Camarra’s second place finish and Kelsey Kirk’s third place finish in the older age division. Maddison Jine placed third in the younger age division, which helped catapulted the level 4 team to a second-place finish overall.
Taylin Ashley-White scored an impressive first place finish in her division, while Jaclyn Kirby finished fourth place in the older age division. Gabriella Cosgrove had a great performance on the uneven bars and floor events, finishing fourth place.
