On Aug. 23, the ABA-BMX (American Bicycling Association-Bicycle Motorcross) hosted the NorCal State Championship series finals in Roseville, attracting youth and adults from all over Northern California.

Three students from Oakley’s Gehringer Elementary School have been actively racing the BMX series and made it to the finals. Matthew Edwards, Savannah Kavert and Seth Kavert all earned Top-10 plates for the state championship series. The plates are earned based on performance in novice, intermediate and expert divisions.

Matthew, Savannah and Seth all actively race in single/double point races, the California State series, the Redline Cup series and the National series, traveling all over California and other states as well.
