Girl Scout Gold Award candidate Erika So stands patiently in line at the post office Saturday, waiting to mail boxes of goods headed for troops overseas.

Erika’s project, A Piece of Home, garnered enough items to fill 20 boxes during last weekend’s 100 Years of Scouting celebration at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds in Antioch.

With the help of Antioch Military Families and Friends (AMFF), the goodies were collected at the fairgrounds, packed at the AMFF’s new digs at the Rivertown Resource Center (courtesy of Delta 2000) and sent on their way.

Here’s a tip of the cap to everyone who donated, packed and transported it all – and especially to Erika.
