The East County Lions Scouts level turned in a gutsy performance in a game against West Pittsburg on Oct. 3. The defense was led by Connor Gasperson, Kevin Moore, Justin Bergen, Sean Bradley, Bryan Garcia, and Ryan Fithian; the offense by Cooper Gardner, Jack Murphy, Victor and Nicholas Montez, and Jacobi Padilla, Ryan Jackson and Isaiah Baldwin. With the game at a defensive stalemate, the Lions controlled the line of scrimmage the entire contest. The Scouts look forward to the Livermore Cowboys next week.

The ECYF Pee Wees rolled over West Pittsburg 25-0. Michael Goodwin scored on three touchdown runs and Jesse Gregerson added another on handoffs from Joe Sweeney. The Lions offensive line of Zachary Harris, Brandon Tatum, Jack Smith, Bradley Carr and Jake Gigliotti took control of the game in the third quarter. A swarming defense, led by Jesse Gregerson, Domonic Espino, Julian Martin, Preston Charles-Merrill and Isaiah Clement, shut down the Spartan offense all game. The Pee Wee team improved its season record to 3-1 and notched its fourth defensive shutout of the season.

The 3-1 Jr. Midgets beat West Pitt 22-0, scoring on two TDs – one by Austin Solari and one by Martell Banks – and extra-point kicks by Geovanni Graham. The defensive standouts were Alex Espino, Michael Figaroa, Nikko Ortiz, Alex Barlett, Jesse Barker, Justin Young, Savonte Perry and Ivan Oseguera. The Jr. Midgets held West Pitt to less than 75 yards of offense.

The Midgets won 30-0 to boost their record to 3-1. The Midget defense allowed only one first down in the game, and offensive and defensive lines dominated play throughout the game.
