Animal lovers and future scientists will be going wild with science at the Oakley Library on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. Participants will get a hands-on experience of rescued animals, including Tree Frog Treks featuring Buddy the Iguana and Ivan the Tortoise, and learn ways to help preserve the Bay Area’s local habitats and wildlife.

Tree Frog Treks has been offering classes, excursions, and museum programs throughout the Bay Area since 1999. Founded by zoologist Chris “Dr. Science” Giorni, the mission of Tree Frog Treks is to create critical thinkers and enthusiastic learners by making science fun. Pre-registration for the event at the library is required.

The Oakley Library is located in Freedom High School, 1050 Neroly Road. The library is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursdays from 2 to 9 p.m., Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed on Sundays and Mondays. For more information, call 925-625-2400.
