The Kinsella Conservatory Theater, in collaboration with playwright Phillip Canville and Bay Area composer Chris Elise Keller, will debut the musical “Auction Gallery” Nov. 6 through 22 at the Lesher Arts Center in Walnut Creek. Directed by Steve Kinsella, the work features a cast of award-winning actors from New York to San Francisco.

“Auction Gallery” has been in the works for nearly 20 years. Canville was inspired to write the libretto after viewing great works of art and enjoying world-class theater while on London excursions with the theater faculty of Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.

“Auction Gallery” takes place the night before a major auction at a fine arts gallery, where famous works of art are assembled for sale. When the art comes to life, what follows is a theatrical storytelling event that asks the question: “What if as we viewed the art, the art viewed us?”

“Audiences are sure to be lifted in spirit,” said Kinsella. “There are delightful twists and turns that you won’t see coming. ‘Auction Gallery’ has us look at art and at ourselves.”

Tickets for the performance are $12 and $15, and group discounts are available. For showtimes and tickets, call 925-943-7469 or visit www.lesherartscg.
