Delta Patriots Varsity East vs. Delta Valley Wolfpack

In a hard-hitting, playoff-caliber battle, Delta Patriots Varsity East beat the Delta Valley Wolfpack 34-14. The Patriots went ahead 12-0 at halftime. But the determined Wolfpack came out on fire in the second half and jumped ahead 14-12. Patriots East also started firing on all cylinders and scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to nail down the victory.

Multiple tackles by Amir Mostafavi, Shon Briggs, TJ Briggs, Nick Zalec and Andrew Topete bolstered the backfield effort. Zalec made a pick-six interception; Frank Kurtz and Derek Johnstone put up a TD each, while Topete scored twice.

The East is now enjoying an eight game win streak going in to the DYSA Division Championship game next week against the Patriots Varsity West team.

Delta Patriots Junior Varsity West vs. Delta Patriots Junior Varsity North

Touchdowns early in each half and stout defense were enough to vault the Delta Patriots JV West over the much-improved JV North 16-0 in DYSA Divisional Playoff action.

JV West running back Kyle Trego took it in on a five-yard touchdown dash behind the key block of Pats tackle Nicholas Lenford. Ben Withers made the PAT kick to cap the game’s opening drive.

Patriot West linebacker Dylan Capps led the shutout effort on defense, tallying five tackles, two for losses. Capps also recovered a fumble late in the first half after defensive end Jeremy Cook and cornerback Eddie Mason combined to strip the North quarterback.

Kevin Milam converted a well-timed halfback option, hitting Pats West receiver Dante Nomellini for a 30-yard touchdown. Withers’ second PAT kick of the game provided the final margin.
