Seen in Scotland

Former Antioch City Councilman Arne Simonsen recently wrapped up a seven-week R&R at his home in Scotland at the former RAF Edzell base where he was stationed and met his wife, Sylvia, back in 1967-68. Simonsen “missed the phone calls and coffee meetings and most of all my granddaughter.”

He didn’t, however, miss the Antioch Press – he brought it with him. “What I miss about Scotland is the people,” wrote Simonsen, “particularly the former U.S. military that also married Scottish lassies and retired over here. We all get together every week for breakfast in Montrose” – Sylvia’s hometown.

Thanks, councilman, for a bonny excursion.
