The California Rays 13U baseball club recently won its third championship in six fall tournaments, taking the title at Rainbow Fields. In the course of the five-game effort, Rays’ batters scored 31 runs while Rays’ pitchers and fielders gave up only five.

The Rays won the tournament’s first game against the Modesto Stars by a score of 10-0. They then played the Nor Cal Grizzlies in back-to-back matchups, losing 2-1 and winning 3-1. In the semi-final game, the Rays posted another 10-0 blowout, this time against the Next Level Giants.

The Rays knew they had their work cut out for them early on in the championship game against Eastlake when Titan batters unleashed the long ball – only to walk away empty when Rays outfielders proved they had wheels and gloves to track down those missiles at the fence. Final score: Rays 7, Titans 2.
