We understand that times are tough, not just for our own family (which has three members out of work) but for many other families in our local area, as well as across the nation. Even so, we refused to let our state, or even our nation’s economic situation take away from the spirit of Christmas. Times are hard everywhere, yet our family still wanted to do something for our community to help spread the Christmas cheer.
What did we do? We wanted to offer a chance to experience a little Christmas cheer right from Bethel Island. Our Christmas scene may be small by the measure of some, but to us it’s a very big deal. My brother has been working very hard all week putting up Christmas decorations in the hope of sharing some Christmas spirit with the families in our community.
We invite everyone to come and share some Christmas cheer with our family. Remember to wear a warm coat, bring a flashlight, and maybe a thermos of hot cocoa, too. And yes, even the Antioch, Brentwood, Discovery Bay and Oakley Press are welcome – and we do hope you come and take pictures and help us spread the word: “The Christmas Spirit Is Alive in Bethel Island!”
The hours you can visit are 6 to 9 p.m. – please, no visitors after 9 p.m., as all the outdoor Christmas lights will automatically go off after 9 p.m.
You can find us and our Christmas spirit at Sullivan Farms Palouse Appaloosas, 4220 Gateway Road on Bethel Island.
