John Vincent Dejesus of Twin Falls, Idaho died Jan. 12 at St. Luke’s Magic Valley after a lengthy illness. He was born March 8, 1926 in Oakley.

John served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1944-46. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to travel and fish in California, Oregon and Idaho. John was a member of the Moose Lodge in Twin Falls. He lived in Oakley until 1991, when he moved to Twin Falls.

John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen of Twin Falls; daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Ron Bovert of Oakley and Sandra and Brent Jussel of Twin Falls; grandchildren, Justin Bovert of Sacramento, Adam Jussel of Seattle, Wash., Sarah Bovert of Sacramento and Kevin Jussel of Seattle, Wash; sisters, Mary Lou Cox of Antioch, Lucille Davis (Rod) of Antioch, Lorraine Avery (Jim) of Penn Valley, Adeline Riley (Joe) of Castro Valley and Rose Helms (Bob) of Brentwood; brothers, Manual Dejesus (Mary) of Fruitland, Idaho, Edward Dejesus of Antioch and Ernie Dejesus (Sharon) of Brentwood; sister-in-law, Sharon M. Dejesus of Oakley and Darlene Dejesus of Grass Valley. He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Dejesus, and brothers, George Dejesus and Alfred Dejesus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services were held on Jan. 21 at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls.

Sorry for your loss Helen. I was Roman Lesch's step-daughter who lived across from you in Oakley. We all know there is a better place where all our loved ones are waiting for us.
