The East Contra Costa Historical Society will host two volunteer recruitment days in March to help educate locals about the Historical Society and what it has to offer. The Society could always use a few more helping hands to work as house docents in the 1878 farmhouse or host school tours, work on restoring one of Byron’s first fire trucks or help update displays and archives. It’s the perfect volunteer experience for those interested in local history.

These open houses, to help prepare for the 2010 grand opening on March 27, will be held on March 6 and 21 at 11 a.m. at the museum, located at 3890 Sellers Ave. in Brentwood.

For information, call Dave or Joyce at 925-679-1024 or Pat at 925-625-3553.
