Thai Pham, seen here in a white shirt and striped tie, is a former sergeant with the 528th Special Ops Battalion. His spine was injured in a parachute drop in Afghanistan, which to his disappointment led to his discharge.

During his three years in the service, Pham was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Combat Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon and several more, but he never received a proper welcome home.

On Jan. 30, the Warrior Watch Riders, with support from the Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders and supportive citizens of East County, fixed that, surprising Pham at Antioch Chrysler Jeep Dodge, where he now works.

Thank you for your service, Thai!
