Changes are underway at the Brentwood Golf Club and Nines Restaurant, but according to those in charge of the change, the only difference customers will see will be for the better.

BRV Corporation, a golf investment group that owns six course properties throughout the state, bought the popular Brentwood club and restaurant from Shea Properties early last month.

“Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible,” said Larry Taylor, managing partner for BRV. “Whenever you are investing in the revitalization of a property, you tend to try to let your actions speak louder than your words. We are looking forward to enhancing and improving the overall experience of our customers.”

Taylor said that while BRV will handle the overall running of the golf course, it plans to turn over the day-to-day management of Nines to Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Centers. Currently serving more than 11 golf course locations throughout California, including the San Ramon and Pittsburg, Wedgewood co-owner Bill Zaruka said his company looks forward to making subtle yet widespread changes to the restaurant.

“We’ve been on site only for a couple of weeks,” said Zaruka, who will officially take over the lease of the restaurant within the next few months. “But we can already see that there is a good, loyal customer base and great staff. The property is fantastic and the Brentwood community is so unique and amazing. We’re looking forward to making it (Nines) an even more popular restaurant and banquet facility.”

“The main message to our customers is that there are good changes underway made by seasoned and credible operators,” said Taylor. “We’re in this for the long term and we will be active in the community and we’ll be good neighbors.”
