Kids 5 to 13 can learn tennis and enjoy a little competitive play in an introductory tennis program at an affordable price that doesn’t require club membership.

The Oakley Youth Tennis League at the Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa, 1510 Neroly Road, begins Saturday, April 24 and runs for five consecutive Saturday afternoon sessions through May 22, culminating in the League All Star Tournament on June 5. Each two-hour session starts at 1 p.m. Registrations received by April 2 cost only $60; $70 for those received April 3 through 6. To enroll, visit www.youthtennisleague.net.

The program uses the USTA’s Quickstart program format, designed to get a child rallying and playing right away utilizing age-specific equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring. Specifics can be found at www.quickstarttennis.com.
