Easter arrives early this year – April 4 – so now’s the time to make your plans. Whether you’re searching for a sunrise service or bountiful brunch, there’s an abundance of bunnyful activities in East County to help you celebrate. Here’s a sampling of some local family-styled events:

Saturday, April 3 DISCOVERY BAY EASTER EGG HUNT

Cornell Park, 505 Discovery Bay Blvd.

The annual Discovery Bay Lions Club event begins at 10 a.m. (early arrival is recommended) and features refreshments and kid-friendly activities. For information, call 925-516-7234.

PREWETT PARK EGG HUNT

4701 Lone Tree Way, Antioch

Egg hunts, face painting, arts and crafts, and visit from the Easter Bunny are provided for all age groups from 10 a.m. to noon. Antioch residents pay $5; non-residents $6. Register by April 1 by calling 925-776-3070.

CHURCH ON THE ROCK EGGSTRAVAGANZA

The Antioch Church on the Rock, 50 Walton Lane

Church on the Rock’s Easter egg hunt runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event includes foods, games, face painting and a bounce house. Call 925-757-4359 or visit www.antiochcotr.org.

CELEBRATE AT THE STREETS

Enjoy an Easter weekend of family fun at The Streets of Brentwood. The two-day event boasts bounce houses, face painters and magic princess holiday bunnies. Stores will be open Easter Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Call 925-516-8500 or visit www.streetsofbrentwoodca.com.

Easter Sunday, April 4 GRACE RESURRECTION DAY SERVICE

ST. ANNE CATHOLIC CHURCH SERVICE

EASTER JAZZ CRUISE
