Thank you, thank you, Congressman McNerney, for voting in favor of health care reform. The passing of the bill is a historic victory of epic proportions for all Americans – families, seniors, young people, workers and small businesses alike. All Americans will now have the security of knowing that they won’t risk losing everything if they get sick or are in an accident.
Finally, insurance companies will be held accountable – they will no longer be able to increase premiums, deny care when it’s needed most or deny coverage because of a pre-existing condition. I am grateful to you and proud of you at the same time. It has been said that health care reform is a civil rights issue, but I think it goes further than civil rights; it is a human rights issue. Thank you for helping to make it into law.
